Bobby Lee Favors’s newly released “A Journey Toward Home: How Life experiences led me to the very heart of God” is a compelling example of spiritual growth

“A Journey Toward Home: How Life experiences led me to the very heart of God”: a potent exploration of the author’s spiritual journey. “A Journey Toward Home: How Life experiences led me to the very heart of God” is the creation of published author Bobby Lee Favors, a loving husband, father of three beautiful children, minister, teacher of the gospel, military veteran, and a very successful businessman. He has conducted missionary work in Turkey and Albania.

Favors shares, “If you are taking the first steps on your life journey or if you have been on the road for years, you are sure to be refreshed and renewed as you began to journey closer to the very arms of God. Your life dreams and aspirations do not have to be put on hold or out of reach, no matter what cards life has dealt. You can come forth and come out. Truly you are the one that controls your life’s destiny, not your past faults or mistakes. This book will show just how the Lord can take you out, clean you up, and renew your mind, body, soul, and spirit.

“Can God forgive and use you? My answer is absolutely because he did it for me, so I know that as you read my story, you will see that if he can forgive and restore this old country boy, then he can surely lift you up from your unwanted circumstances. As you read through this book, you will come to understand your value and purpose for being on earth. Christ will help you complete His very purpose in you. You are not too far gone to where He does not know where you are, and He is seeking after you.

“This book will reflect through my story, that our precious life will be filled with mistakes. However, we must understand that on the inside of those who have accepted Christ is the life of a risen savior. It is my hope that everyone who believes and lives for Christ can experience the excitement of life to its fullest and the abundance of blessings that God has promised to us all. I challenge you as you read this book from start to finish, opening your heart and mind to feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit and the process of change taking place.

“Through this encounter, revitalization will begin to inspire you to move forward on your life journey. I have been blessed to have experienced God’s greatness. There must be a strong desire to trust God’s leading even when the way forward seems hidden. The journey ahead of you is so much brighter than the road behind you. You can and will complete your journey to the very arms of God.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Bobby Lee Favors’s new book is an enjoyable and thought-provoking exploration of personal faith and what leads one back to God.

With thoughtful reflections and honest accounting of the peaks and valleys of life, Favors shares a meaningful journey in hopes of inspiring others.

Author MaryAlice Kelly’s new book “The Silver Circle” is a compelling tale of magic, mystery, and friendship in the tiny kingdom of Lamara

MaryAlice Kelly, a lifelong writer and married great-grandmother with a wide range of interests including animals, especially cats, stars, needlecrafts, music, reading, and miniature houses, has completed her new book “The Silver Circle”: a fast-paced adventure that keeps the pages turning until its poignant conclusion.

The crown of Lamara was legendary, the creation of one mystical people and the gift to Lamara of another. It has the power to choose the king, and when it chooses the younger son over the elder, trouble begins. When it is lost and the king dies, it leaves Gunther, an adolescent boy, as heir, and the rejected uncle becomes regent.

This is also a tale of friendship, the kind of friendship that encourages one man to always tell a king the truth, whether he wants to hear it or not, and his sons to follow his example. There is a price for this kind of loyalty, and each man pays it in his own way: the first one with death, the second with captivity, and the third with change.

Is the price too high?

What kind of king will Gunther be?

Published by Page Publishing, MaryAlice Kelly’s engrossing book is an excellent choice for avid medieval fiction readers.

Author James Kirkwood’s new book “When Fathers Don’t Hug” is an inspirational memoir about how fathers may have an everlasting influence on one’s life.

James Kirkwood, a retired Army colonel who served for 29 years then established his own IT consulting firm and currently works on his tree farm in Texas has two children and five grandchildren and an MBA, has completed his new book “When Fathers Don’t Hug”: a motivating and intimate memoir about James’ life with his father growing up and how his life has been shaped by his father.

James writes, “The place was perfect for learning to shoot and track game, learning what you could eat and what not to eat in the woods and how to find it, fishing (with a pole and without a pole), hunting with and without a gun, building a shelter, and just having the freedom of ninety acres all to myself. My first gun was a BB gun. I did a lot of shooting at cardboard targets in the backyard. Daddy gave me his Springfield single shot .22 rifle when I was nine years old; this was a year before my mother knew I was shooting a real gun and she thought I was too young then.

“From about eight years old until I was twelve, Daddy and cousin Tom would teach me the Indian skills they had learned from those old Indians in the family. Cousin Tom did not have any children, although he had been married several times and Daddy and he were like brothers, so they both taught me.”

Published by Page Publishing, James Kirkwood’s personal tale reveals how important a relationship with one’s father is in life.

This memoir is an interactive book that gives readers lessons at the end of each chapter. The purpose is to show how to build a better relationship with one’s father by portraying and seeing what it is like to have an influential father. Readers will follow along James’ memoirs about his father and hopefully build a stronger connection to their own father, whether he hugs or not.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase “When Fathers Don’t hug” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Thom Shipley, a resident of Baltimore, has a new book. “Racism: Then and Now” is a memoir of the lasting legacy of bigotry on his formative years in postwar Maryland.

Thomas R. Shipley, a former teacher and administrator who, days after his retirement from the Maryland State Department of Education, embarked on a second career as the executive director of the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools. It was a new association of public schools and reservations, dealing with federal funding for American Indian and military-dependent students. He soon became a consultant to the House and Senate subcommittees on education, and retired in 1988 to become a serial entrepreneur. Thom now volunteers as a mentor in entrepreneurship at the University of Baltimore, and has just completed his fourth book, “Racism: Then and Now,” a wrenching retrospective on his personal experiences as a witness to subtle and overt racism in the Jim Crow era and beyond.

The author writes, “This book is divided into two conspicuously different parts. The first half contains five relevant, true stories, which started me on a thought-path to trying to understand racism as I was living it. The stories took place in the ’40s and ’50s and range from mild to poignant. They are all true and are retold here just as I lived them. Not very long ago, racism of every variety was alive and well in most of the United States. It was a right of privilege, passed on to a large portion of the White community, and it was an unbearable burden, passed on—generation after generation—to what I knew then as the Colored Community. Generation after generation, in every family, the torch was passed. From kitchen table conversations to Supreme Court decisions, racism was passed on. Every child “had to be carefully taught.”

“For more than eighty years, I have watched it morph from subtle acts of noncompliance into violent explosions. I have watched acts from lynching for flirting to murder for being Black. We have had local riots and international demonstrations, and little has honestly changed.”

Published by Page Publishing, Thomas R. Shipley’s engrossing book is a must-read for anyone interested in the legacy of racist attitudes across many facets of American society. Readers who wish to experience this engaging and frequently controversial work can purchase “Racism: Then and Now” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, and Barnes and Noble.

He is a graduate of McAuley Regional Catholic High School, Missouri Southern State University (BSE), and Pepperdine University (MSA).

“The Gift of Grandchildren gives the reader a plethora of examples in respect to family traditions, mores, conversations, and endeavors, which are enhanced by the formation of the grandparent’s knowledge and the grandchild’s curiosity. These aspects of life are presented in a manner designed to bring laughter, contemplation, and spiritual reflection to the reader through recognition of events pertinent to the human experience.

“The Gift of Grandchildren was written with the idea of God’s gift of life being very special for those parents who have entered the realm of becoming a grandparent. It is not only part of God’s plan but a glorious aspect of the cycle of life.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Gene Koester’s new book is a personal testament to the blessings that come with grandchildren.

Author Cornelius Wright’s new book “Black Boy from the Barrio” is the first in a series of memoirs sharing the challenges and triumphs of his life in Northern California

Cornelius Wright, a certified life coach, author, speaker, and philanthropist who has just recently found out his true calling in life, has completed his new book “Black Boy from the Barrio”: a collection of candid autobiographical essays offered to motivate and inspire.

“Black Boy from the Barrio” is a series of books about Cornelius “Neo” Wright. It’s an ongoing saga about an African American man who is living two different lives. The first half of his life was spent doing nonproductive things like partying, watching television, and working on physically demanding jobs. During his mid-thirties, he had a wakeup call and realized that he needed a “check up from the neck up.” He found that he was on the same career and life path that his beloved father (who was a farm laborer) had warned him to avoid. In 1994, he was introduced to some local business owners who were living the life that most people would only dream of. Fortunately, they were willing to coach and mentor Neo if he would make the time. He took them up on their offer, and the rest is HISTORY. At the time, little did Neo know that he would someday rewrite HISTORY for himself and countless others someday in the future. Well, that SOMEDAY is now. Welcome to “Black Boy from the Barrio” Volume 1.

Author Patricia Jensen’s new book “John or Is It Fred: A Glimpse of the Jensen Family Saga” is a compelling portrait of a family living during a turbulent era in history

Patricia Jensen, a proud mother of two sons and grandmother of three grandkids and the former cohost of a radio talk show on KKRN in Round Mountain, has completed her new book “John or Is It Fred: A Glimpse of the Jensen Family Saga”: a riveting and potent depiction of a real-life family living through a tumultuous era in American history.

Describing her inspiration for this story, the author writes, “While cleaning the garage during the virus lockdown in 2020, Bill found the wallet referred to in the book, along with numerous other items in multiple boxes. We had moved from San Diego on New Year’s at the turn of the century, and the boy’s old footlocker toy box managed to house a number of collectable items and family heirlooms. These were boxes of relatives’ memorabilia and old pictures that had been handed over to us from his mom and upon the death of older relatives.

“With Bill’s help, I was able to create a time line of events from the dozens of items we found. His recollection of a number of the noteworthy ones helped create this story.

“He helped identify many of the characters in pictures that turned up in this book. He also recalled many stories that his dad, Fred C. Jensen, referred to as Freddie early in the book, told him. He remembered many visits from relatives when he was a boy, and the numerous ‘war’ stories overheard.”

Published by Page Publishing, Patricia Jensen’s personal tale follows true-life colorful characters of the 1920s to 40s as they lived full and adventurous lives. They lived at a time when they were called upon to build a city and a historical dam, to grow a fledgling spit of a town in the desert into what would become the world-famous city of Las Vegas.

The Jensens were rugged individuals on a desert frontier living ordinary lives during an exceptional time in American history, and they continually rose to the occasion. They survived Prohibition, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and made many wartime sacrifices. Along the way and by complete chance, they bumped into numerous famous personalities.

I’Kallu Judah-Judah’s newly released “Daddy’s Best: Stories and Tales Best Told by Daddy” is a fun-filled collection of stories with important moral lessons

“Daddy’s Best: Stories and Tales Best Told by Daddy”: an eclectic collection of narratives meant for fathers to share with little ones. “Daddy’s Best: Stories and Tales Best Told by Daddy” is the creation of published author I’Kallu Judah-Judah, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who is the founder and president of the Albert Tibbs Evangelistic Association (ATEA) in Fort Bend County, Texas.

Judah-Judah shares, “I am unapologetically in awe and humbled by the sovereign grace and godly design of the position of daddy. To be called by God to serve in this sacred sphere of humanity is at once both simply and profoundly amazing.

“Daddy’s Best is a book of ideas that are translated into stories and tales, which when read or told by daddies are transformed into the power of dreaming, doing, and being in the heart of children that has infinite heights and everlasting dimensions. This is eminently important because ‘dreamers and doers are trailblazers, dreamers and doers are history makers.’

“Therefore, ‘you can’t influence if you don’t engage.’ Influence their destiny by engaging them in the best that you are and can be and by instructing them in teaching moments, play moments, meal moments, traveling moments, and sleeping moments.

“This book is written for Gen Xers, millennials, and generally new fathers to simply encourage the ‘daddy’s best’ in you to be made available for your child or children and for you to experience and be blessed together as God reveals the daddy’s best in you. I pray that fathers everywhere, by whatever means God used to place this book in their hands, would accept the divine charge to be a daddy, a daddy that will be responsible to shape the destiny of their children by this and mainly the greatest story ever told. When this is accomplished, together we will have transformed our world to its kingdom best and we will have been at our ‘daddy’s best.’

“I salute every father that has chosen to accept his God-given and blessed position and duty as daddy. I pray with you as you ascend in this glory of God.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, I’Kallu Judah-Judah’s new book is an important reminder of the blessing that fatherhood truly is.

With charming stories and creative illustrations, readers will find an enjoyable opportunity for family togetherness and lessons on key moral concepts.
