Author Dr. Barbara Priddy Guyer’s new book “Learning Should Be Fun!” provides detailed instructions on how to bring the joy of learning back to students and teachers.

Recent release “Learning Should Be Fun!” from Page Publishing author Dr. Barbara Priddy Guyer is an engaging work that helps students relate to the past and experience substantial academic improvement.

Dr. Barbara Priddy Guyer, who is from Richmond, Virginia, has completed her new book “Learning Should Be Fun!”: a groundbreaking work that shares how Dr. Guyer bypasses roadblocks to learning by harnessing the creative power of the mind of the student, using mindfulness paired with visualization and auditory imagery.

Author Dr. Barbara Priddy Guyer has taught grades two through twelve. She has also taught students with learning disabilities as well as in a women’s prison. Her studies
were in educational administration, elementary education, and school psychology. Her fourth degree was a doctorate from the University of Virginia in learning disabilities and educational administration.

She has published articles in journals such as “The New England Journal of Medicine,” “International Dyslexia Association,” and the “Journal of the Learning Disabilities Association of America.” She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Little Victories Animal Shelter and a co-founder of the New Community School located in Richmond, Virginia, which is a school for students with dyslexia. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Little Victories Animal Shelter.

Dr. Barbara Priddy Guyer writes, “Visualization can be used alone or with other senses. In fact, the more regions of the brain that we involve in learning, the easier it is to learn and to retrieve what we have learned. For example, we may visualize the Battle of Gettysburg and notice the dust in the air, the screams of the soldiers, and death. This may give the student a more realistic view of the battle, one which won’t be forgotten. Many teachers use visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and mindfulness techniques separately; but it is often wise to integrate their use so that the student may recall information more quickly and accurately (Bock, 1998; Guyer, B., 2000, 2018; Stahl & Shiel, 1999; NICHD, 19 & 2000; and Wilson, B., 2018).”

Published by Page Publishing, Dr. Barbara Priddy Guyer’s useful work guides readers through time and space to visit the Jamestown Settlement and Civil War battlefields, meet Generals Lee and Grant, sit next to FDR as he deals with the Great Depression, enter the war rooms of Winston Churchill and Adolph Hitler through the dark days of World War II and later, the struggle for Civil Rights.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase “Learning Should Be Fun!” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

  • New book guides readers on how to create habits for well-being and balance using the power of mind

New book guides readers on how to create habits for well-being and balance using the power of mind

Laura King announces the release of ‘Figuring It Out: Balancing Your Wheel of Life’

Renowned certified hypnotist, NLP practitioner, and life coach Laura King returns to the publishing scene with her ninth book titled “Figuring It Out: Balancing Your Wheel of Life” (published by Archway Publishing).

This interactive self-improvement guide is designed to walk readers through identifying and cultivating the habits they need to create balance in the eight major areas of life. These eight aspects are family, fun and happiness, health, purpose/meaning, lifelong learning, relationships, finances, and position in life/career. Here, King presents a method for figuring out what is working and what needs improvement these eight areas, and then demonstrates how to use a combination of the power of the mind and the science of habit to create consistent improvements for creating balance and improving well-being.

“Your brain is a powerful organ that pretty much creates your experience each day. But it does that based on programming from the past—it doesn’t decide to do anything new on its own. That’s why people have the same reactions to things and keep replaying the same relationship dynamics. But you can change that programming if you know how the brain works. This book describes what we know about why we do what we do, and how you can use that information to create balance and wellness in your life,” King says.

“Figuring It Out: Balancing Your Wheel of Life” is complete with a detailed explanation of the theory behind the practices, pages to write on and prompts for writing, and downloads to all of the hypnosis tracks for balancing the major areas of life. “The Simple Guide to a Successful You” pragmatically shares a variety of her own experiences as a human trafficking survivor navigating the workplace, and the tactics she used to begin discovering her passions and climbing the career ladder. Hope and optimism are prevalent, but it does not ignore the harsh reality that life can get messy for anyone.

“As a survivor of human trafficking that is now living a life that I never dreamed I could have, I feel it is my duty to share my own experience with other people. Especially in light of more people acknowledging their trauma with initiatives like the Me Too movement, I believe that there is a gap in resources for people like me, and the millions of other survivors, that are wondering ‘what’s next?’ in their life journey,” Lebel says. “Trauma can happen to anyone. My hope is that this book shines a light on the fact that no matter what has happened in your life, there is hope.”

“Each of the steps that I outlined in this book are based on my own experience, and even if just one reader is able to carve a passion-filled life path, that’s all that matters,” Lebel said. “If it motivates someone to take action and as a result a life is renewed, or a family is healed, then mission accomplished.”

Author Scott M. Crisci’s new book “Surviving Las Vegas” is a powerful and inspiring true account of how the author overcame medical issues to find success

Recent release “Surviving Las Vegas: The Story of a Man Who Beat the Odds with his Mind and Body” from Page Publishing author Scott M. Crisci explores the author’s struggles with medical issues and near-death experiences as he rose through the ranks to become a high-stakes dealer and find new meaning in life through his wife and God.

Scott M. Crisci, who moved to Las Vegas with his family at age fourteen and went on to major in business at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, has completed his new book “Surviving Las Vegas: The Story of a Man Who Beat the Odds with his Mind and Body”: a stunning memoir of the author’s inspiring battle against a host of medical issues while chasing after his purpose and making a name for himself.

“There were a million things to do [in Las Vegas]. Boredom was not the problem. I was fitting in well and so were my parents. My mom and dad had avoided the gambling habit, and I was content to be a desert rat. That would all change soon and suddenly,” writes Crisci. “It wasn’t my parents, it was me. My well-kept body was going to let me down. It came suddenly and never stopped. I was devastated. Who wouldn’t be?

“I wasn’t even an adult yet, and I had a myriad of diseases forming in my body. The kind of stuff that you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. That is what this book is really about: my diseases and how I’ve managed to cope with them.

“I have to say that I have done quite well, all things considered. They robbed me of my college years, and that is a shame. But they ingrained in me something else; something that is deeper: the under- standing of life and how valuable it is.”

Published by Page Publishing, Scott M. Crisci’s uplifting tale will take readers on an incredible journey to better understand what life is like for those who battle with medical issues that affect their daily lives and simple activities most take for granted.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from North Georgia University, and her master’s degree in Nutritional Science from Georgia State University. After graduate school, she focused on raising her two children while starting an essential oil business. As a desire to learn more about her own health ailments and help others, she furthered her education by studying Naturopathic health where she learned to understand the root cause of disease. She earned her Naturopathic Doctor degree after 3 years of intensive studies and 3 years of book writing. Carollo enjoys teaching others about essential oils, dancing and singing to worship music, spending time with her husband and girls, traveling to the Florida Keys and Montana, cooking, eating and talking with her friends and family, painting, reading, organizing, and walking her furry baby golden doodle.
