New book shares a collection of fun and varied stories that highlight the everyday experiences of people of the early 1900s through the Great Depression

C. Blaine Hyatt announces his return into the publishing scene with the release of “Old Shop Stories” (published by LifeRich Publishing), a collection of fun and varied stories that highlight the everyday experiences of people of the early 1900s through the Great Depression.

These stories are from the personal life of men who grow up and lived through the changing times of the early 20th century. Topics very from family, youth, parties, hard work, adventure, creativity, skirting the law and wisdom learned and shared. Embedded in the stories are many true and correct life principles, which can be learned from the past and incorporates into the life of the readers to enhance and benefit their everyday life.

“This book is easy to read and these stories are fascinating and exciting. They are full of a unique culture and history that is far removed and totally different from anything we know today. Many of the stories are almost unbelievable but are true. The experiences recalled in these stories took place mainly in Southern Utah and some in Idaho,” Hyatt says.

When asked what he wants readers to take away from the book, Hyatt answers, “an understanding of how our society has changed how we are blessed by the advancements that have been made in science, technology, education and all other fields since that time. A connection to our ancestors and a realization that they were people just like us and although they lived in a different time, there needs, aspirations and challenges were very similar to ours. I also hope the reader will learn from the history in these stories things that can applied in their personal life that will be of benefit. About the Author
C. Blaine Hyatt, M.S., spent his adult life running a manufacturing business and spent time in sales, as a farmer, in hypnotherapy, as a special education teacher, and as a coach in the public school system. He concluded his career as a professor at Fort Hays State University. He regularly gives presentations, conducts seminars, and publishes articles with his wife, Linda Lee Hyatt, Ph.D. They have four children, 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.

Journal entries of a victim of sexual assault intertwines with her daughter’s journey of self-discovery to share a candid, inspiring story of survival, hope, faith and unconditional love

When Heidi Ramer’s mother (Karen) died in 2001, she left behind 15 years of journals detailing the repeated sexual trauma she suffered at the hands of a colleague. Heidi is the only person ever to read those journals before now. Though Karen left no instructions for the journals, one entry in 1987 stated that, if she died, she wanted her story to be shared.
