Ameila Strang announces publication of ‘Sex in the Seminary’
Written by Ameila Strang, a seminary graduate, “Sex in the Seminary: Dating, Sex and Working for God” (published by Archway Publishing) is a collection of fictionalized dating stories penned by soon-to-be clergy seeking love in the modern world while also embracing faith.
Shared as diary entries, “Sex in the Seminary” offers kind-of–sort-of true dating stories “inspired” by dozens of real-life dating seminarians. Strang includes tales that were shared with her over the years during lunch, stories she acquired by eavesdropping in the library, and her own personal dating stories. The diary entries are an ode to the dating experiences, intimacy, and sex.
“I want the audience to be aware of the experiences of single clergy and see beyond the stereotypes of single clergy,” Strang says, adding that her book “provides the readers a glimpse into the private lives of single seminarians and explores how they can feel isolated and invisible in church culture where celibacy and marriage is expected in the church.”
