  • Pamela Ardoin Funderburk’s New Book, “Wins and Losses,” is a Captivating Story About the High Peaks and Low Valleys of Life as Experienced by a Loving Family

Pamela Ardoin Funderburk’s New Book, “Wins and Losses,” is a Captivating Story About the High Peaks and Low Valleys of Life as Experienced by a Loving Family

Recent release “Wins and Losses,” from Page Publishing author Pamela Ardoin Funderburk, is the story of the Richards’ family. Faced with a heartbreaking loss the moment they become parents, Tate and Eve Richards learn to grow from their tragedies as they raise their daughter, Jenna.

Pamela Ardoin Funderburk, an avid reader and retired elementary school teacher, has completed her new book, “Wins and Losses”: an intriguing and potent tale about how loss molds a person as they mature through life.

“It’s my hope that readers will realize that some losses in life allow us to grow and teach us that no person will be able to experience only wins,” says Funderburk. “Both wins and losses cause people to react in a way that forces them to push themselves in directions they may never have considered before. This may sound a bit harsh, but my goal in writing this book was to help people realize that some of the losses experienced in life, regardless of the pain they may have caused, happen for a reason.”

Published by Page Publishing, Pamela Ardoin Funderburk’s gripping tale starts as readers are introduced to a young couple named Tate and Eve Richards. As they begin their journey into parenthood, Tate and Eve are met with one of their greatest losses when one of their twin daughters dies shortly after childbirth. From the moment she is born, their daughter Jenna experiences her first loss without even knowing it. Readers follow along as Jenna grows up, and her experiences—both good and bad—shape her into the woman she becomes.

“Wins and Losses” teaches the valuable lesson that sometimes, what seems like misfortune can be a blessing in disguise. When one door closes, another one opens, and there is no way to experience life without experiencing loss. In the words of Pamela Ardoin Funderburk, “no one can win or lose unless they participate.”

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase “Wins and Losses” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

  • Warren Pechin’s new book “Retribution” details the crises Werner Manheim, owner of an engineering firm in the city, goes through after losing an arbitration proceeding

Warren Pechin’s new book “Retribution” details the crises Werner Manheim, owner of an engineering firm in the city, goes through after losing an arbitration proceeding

Recent release “Retribution” from Page Publishing author Warren Pechin describes how the 65 year old Werner Manheim, lost in an arbitration proceeding to the architects GBA, who hired his firm on a new local high school project. Manheim must find a way to make a come back both professionally and personally from this arbitration award against him.

Warren Pechin, a licensed architect for almost forty-five years, has completed his new book “Retribution”: an intriguing book that explores Werner Manheim’s maneuverings to overcome the effects of he and his wife, Georgina, having to pay off the arbitration award and interest to the architects and his legal expenses to his long-time friend, Brent Bannock, who represented him during the arbitration.

Pechin writes, “’I’m not done yet, not by a long shot,’ Werner said tersely. ‘This additional interest payment from appealing the arbitrator’s decision is going to be lethal for Georgina and me. We’ll most likely lose all the office reserves and probably most of our own personal wealth. We’re going to be broke after paying the architects, except maybe we’ll get to keep our home at the country club. I’m sure no one will recall our exemplary work on these buildings shown here on the renderings hanging on this wall or our reputation developed over the past since the firm was established. I’m sure the public will only remember that the largest structural engineering office in town died a quick death and instantly faded into oblivion, thanks to what you and your son, Kevin, didn’t do.’”

Published by Page Publishing, Warren Pechin’s riveting work delves into the complexities involved in deciding whether to pursue a legal action and the fall out that may occur if unsuccessful.

This book highlights the drama of adversaries on both sides and an escalating series of events, adding additional monetary stress, progresses to a surprising conclusion. It is especially suspenseful because Werner Manheim has not only his company and professional legacy at stake, but also his family’s financial future as well.

Readers who wish to experience this intriguing book can purchase “Retribution” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Teri Flicker’s new book “Through Her Eyes” follows Florence as she goes from a child sold to a plantation owner in the South as a house servant to a colonel’s wife

Recent release “Through Her Eyes” from Page Publishing author Teri Flicker describes the growth of one woman and how her life course took her to a place no one thought possible.

Teri Flicker, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, has completed her new book “Through Her Eyes”: a riveting tale with a backdrop of war and peace, takes readers from the 1920’s through the 1970’s.

Flicker writes, “This book touched the very soul of my life as it is about the life and times of my grandparents. I reside in a small town in Florida and love the life I live here. My one and only child, an amazing daughter, lives next door with her wonderful husband and our granddaughter. My husband is
supportive and my eternal rock. I have family that stays in close contact and fabulous friends that bolster me and complete my life. To say simply that I love my life does not seem to do it justice, but it will suffice until a better word comes along. Please enjoy my story—or I should say my grandmother’s story—the way I did, and appreciate that there are real love stories out there. I am fortunate that I got to share in hers and that I have one of my own.”

During this one lifetime, the world experienced changes that would take music from big band to rock and roll and the information age from newspaper to the nightly news watched on a television set in your own home. It is amazing to witness how much Florence changes along with the world she lives in.

  • Lauren “Britt” Washington’s new book “A Beautiful Nightmare” is about an entrepreneur who decided to create a life of freedom, limitless boundaries, and wealth

Lauren “Britt” Washington’s new book “A Beautiful Nightmare” is about an entrepreneur who decided to create a life of freedom, limitless boundaries, and wealth

Recent Release “A Beautiful Nightmare” from Page Publishing author Lauren “Britt” Washington delves into how Lauren began with hope and ambition, but lacking a solid plan, she soon discovered that the game of entrepreneurship is played by unspoken rules—rules that govern getting paid, being hired, being accepted, and ultimately whether you fail or succeed.

Lauren “Britt” Washington, who has ventured into several industries, becoming a realtor, insurance agent, investor, and business owner, has completed her new book “A Beautiful Nightmare”: an eye-opening work that describes how Lauren spent ten-plus years trying to land a deal, find investors and, most importantly, secure a paycheck.

Washington writes, “This is a story about a dream. Sounds so elementary but true. The deeper truth is how a dream can turn into a nightmare. A reoccurring nightmare. What have you been dreaming about that won’t stop? Does it frighten you? Or inspire you?”

Published by Page Publishing, Lauren “Britt” Washington’s invaluable work follows Lauren as her path started in Atlanta, Georgia, where her foundation for failure (though unbeknownst to her) molded her into what was yet to come.

Before experiencing entrepreneurship, she worked in banking and the nonprofit sector, which led to her undeniable quest to build a thriving enterprise of her own. Time and experience taught her that money and success don’t come easy or for free, but only with hard work and unending faith. After unwelcoming and devastating results, she pursued a bold and spontaneous move to Chicago, Illinois, where her true journey began.

  • New Book of Catholic Fiction Follows a New Priest’s Conflicts with the Church’s Teachings

New Book of Catholic Fiction Follows a New Priest’s Conflicts with the Church’s Teachings

A priest reflects on his work through his daily journals

Author Jack Scissons’ debut book follows a new priest on assignment as he promotes the current teachings of the church about married male and female priests, abortion, divorce, assisted dying, and LGBTQIA+ rights.

“Catholic Church? Why Not:? Diaries of a small-town priest” is told in day-by-day journal entry format. A newly ordained priest believes the current teachings of the church are jaded and discriminatory. He believes the teachings of the gospels that emphasize love, non-judgment and forgiveness would be more inspirational to the world.

“The Catholic Church should be open to all specially those who make mistakes, feel wounded or are treated like outcasts in society; The Church should exclude no one,” Scissons said.

Scissons wrote this book while in isolation during the initial COVID-19 outbreak. He drew inspiration from his own experience as a priest and writers like Morris West, Graham Greene, Andrew Greeley and J.F. Powers. He explained that writing this book was a “wonderful opportunity for reflection on his own Catholic practice.” Scissons discovered how “saddened and disappointed” he is with the current leadership of the Catholic Church.

  • Author Ed Oetjen’s new book “False Solutions” is a thought-provoking story offering an intriguing image of Satan and his impact on humanity through the ages

Author Ed Oetjen’s new book “False Solutions” is a thought-provoking story offering an intriguing image of Satan and his impact on humanity through the ages

Recent release “False Solutions” from Page Publishing author Ed Oetjen is an entertaining work of fiction offering a series of fascinatingly human portraits and a front-row seat to the drama sparked by the presence of Satan and his evil minions in their lives.

Ed Oetjen has completed his new book “False Solutions”: a compelling work that keeps the pages turning until its provocative conclusion.

“But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil for when you eat of it, you will surely die” (Gen. 2:17). Why would God put that troublesome tree in the Garden of Eden? He must have known the childlike Adam and Eve would give in to temptation, especially with that old serpent slithering around. Maybe that was the divine plan from the start for what would be the most interesting saga: an endless summer of Adam and family playing with docile lions and feasting on low-hanging fruit or a tortuous slog through centuries that eventually lifted humanity from hunter-gatherers to astronauts. This little book attempts to offer an alternate view of Satan in which he was not only a vengeful rebel against the cosmic divine will but unwittingly served as the restless, malcontented spark that ignited much of human progress through the ages.

Readers who wish to experience this engaging work can purchase “False Solutions” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
