Fictional Novel Explores the Potential of U.S. War With China

Political thriller suggests diplomacy is needed to stop World War III

The United States and China face war after a computer error causes a battle in the new book by Jeffrey Busch and Dominic Man-Kit Lam.

In “Accidental Diplomacy,” readers get a glimpse of the importance of diplomacy, even when political strength is warranted. Through detailed accounts of political protocol and military responsibilities, readers get a first-hand look at the complexity of international relations in the modern-day world. The authors hope to convey that hypothetical accidents and poor diplomacy could lead to World War III.

Before becoming an author, Busch served in the administrations of two U.S. presidents, and was a delegate to the United Nations. Dr. Lam has been an advisor to several Chinese presidents.

“Through our work with past presidents and foreign policy, we both understand that diplomacy is key,” Busch said. “Without it, a third world war is certainly imminent.”

As readers follow the discussions between U.S. Secretary of State, Bill Bryers, and China’s Foreign Minister, Yao Sheng, diplomacy takes the stage, even as both men battle against a need to show the other their country’s power.

Tensions grow while military pressure increases between two superpowers, each striving to be the victor. The typical response, to engage in war, weighs heavily on both men as they remember their roots and reflect on the duty they vowed to uphold.

The Sapient Sabre announces the release of ‘I Had a Farm’

New dystopian fiction pits animal rights against human survival

In an era where our land is too fragile to provide meat and crops, to what extent are humans willing to sacrifice ethics for a full stomach?” The Sapient Sabre invites readers to explore this premise in his dystopian novel titled “I Had a Farm” (published by Partridge Singapore).

The year is 2040. Nothing can be grown from the Earth’s soil anymore. Extreme weather becomes incrementally frequent and devastating, dwindling food production as crops and livestock die before harvesting. Even seafood is not available due to severe pollution. Demand for food is skyrocketing yet there is not enough to feed 11 billion people. In order to alleviate this dilemma, Professor Caesar Claudius MacDonald turns to biotechnology. With the help of his assistants Grace Merce and Judson Cotter, Professor Caesar invents a meat animal fitting for the current hazardous world. However, complications and conflicts arise when his animals display sentience in a certain way. What comes first: human survival or animal rights?

“I Had a Farm” is an intriguing story about a near-distant future that opens discussions on important topics the society faces today such as climate change, environmental ethics, genetics, bioengineering, animal welfare, and moral choices. It will appeal to those who enjoy science fiction set in a dystopic world.

“And warning, you may never look at your dinner steak the same way again,” the author adds.

Graduated with First Honors and currently teaching high school English, The Sapient Sabre, known to his friends and colleagues as Tim, enjoys creative writing. The Department of English Language and Literature of Hong Kong Shue Yan University broadened his horizon with cultural studies and many more. There, he learnt that other-than-human beings such as robots, animals and plants are sentient in their own ways. It is an act of a responsible human to voice out for these usually underlooked beings around. The Sapient Sabre thinks difference, differently.

  • Author Johann Fuchs’s new book “The Last Days Before Peace” follows the life of a young college student who signs up for the navy after graduating as WWII begins.

Author Johann Fuchs’s new book “The Last Days Before Peace” follows the life of a young college student who signs up for the navy after graduating as WWII begins.

Recent release “The Last Days Before Peace” from Page Publishing author Johann Fuchs is a stirring tale that centers around William Pembrooke, a young college student on the cusp of beginning his life when the world is thrown into chaos with the start of WWII. Now in the Navy, William leads a small warship through countless battles, helping to turn the tides of the war.

Johann Fuchs, a veteran of the U.S. Army, who found a career in truck driving to raise and support his family, has completed his new book “The Last Days Before Peace”: a gripping and powerful narrative that explores the life of one of many who served in the Second World War and aided in the Allied victory, but received little honor and distinction.

Fuchs shares, “The story follows a young college who is about to graduate when World War II breaks out, and he joins the Navy. He is assigned to the USS Cassin as she is being rebuilt after Pearl Harbor. The story follows Lieutenant Pembrooke and the USS Cassin as they journey through the war. The story is how the small warships (destroyers) affected the war but didn’t get all the glory. Lieutenant Pembrooke is wounded near the end of the war but is able to return home to his wife and daughter.”

Published by Page Publishing, Johann Fuchs’s fascinating novel explores the lives of those who served with pride but are often forgotten about in the history books. Poignant and character-driven, Fuchs’s thrilling narrative will stay with readers long after its conclusion.

Readers who wish to experience this captivating work can purchase “The Last Days Before Peace” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

The Story May Be Fiction Now, But Strange Things Could Happen If We Give Up The Fight

Liberty Hill Publishing presents a fictional world where freedom-seekers are hunted down and Christians are hidden underground.

Author W.T. Earley introduces readers to a dystopian society where life and death are controlled by The Coin ($22.49, paperback, 9781662863288; $9.99, e-book, 9781662863295).

Dr. Jeannie Garcia lives a stable, regime-privileged life in a post-WWIII society ruled by China where the population is controlled by a device tied to a unique Coin which few truly understand. When Garcia’s husband dies under suspicious circumstances, her eyes are opened to a dark side of her world she never knew existed and she is forced to confront it in order to save herself and her two young daughters.

“Seeing the dangerous misdirection of our country, The Coin unabashedly takes on abortion, globalists, wokeism, cancel culture, and the CCP (not the Chinese people, but their governmental leaders). It is not too late to course correct — but soon it will be if we don’t wake up to the reality of what is being taken from us,” said Earley.

    W. T. Earley is an American author, lawyer, broadcaster, speaker, and community leader. He holds degrees from San Diego State University and Georgetown University Law Center. While living in Washington, D.C., Earley worked on Capitol Hill in the United States Senate.
