Author Suzanne Muir’s new book “Miss Kat’s Brownstone” follows the story of Kat who, after suffering a heartbreaking loss, buys an old apartment building to repair it

Recent release “Miss Kat’s Brownstone” from Page Publishing author Suzanne Muir is a heartfelt story that follows a woman named Kat who buys a run-down apartment building with the hopes of rebuilding it to its former glory. As she gets to know her tenants and work with them on the repair project, Kat slowly gets her own life in order and finds healing after the loss of her parents and brothers.

Suzanne Muir, a member of the National Writers Association, Professional Division, who was a columnist within the community newspaper network of thirty-six newspapers from May 1992 until April 2011, has completed her new book “Miss Kat’s Brownstone”: a beautiful tale of hope and healing that follows a broken woman as she tries to piece together her life as well as the dilapidated apartment building that she now owns.

“In 1960, Katrina Morgan was at a personal crossroad in her life. She needed a reason to go forward, a project to give her purpose,” writes Muir. “She has bought a run-down brownstone apartment building on Walker Avenue in New York. The deteriorated structure is the way Katrina feels about her own life. Something she had not counted on was while the rebuilding, inside and out, was taking place, she grew to know and admire the twenty souls who have occupied the brownstone for many years.

“Some of the tenants are excited and willing to be a part of this renewal effort while a few are very skeptical, especially one older man. Katrina and her sister are trying to mend their own broken lives following the death of their parents and two brothers in an automobile accident. The tenants’ lives and Kat’s personal life began to intertwine as a strong awareness and respect starts to take shape. The surrounding brownstones lining Walker Avenue are occupied with people fearing the abrupt change. Envy and anger fills their conscious emotions. They are simply afraid. ‘Ms. Kat’s Brownstone’ is a story of strength, kindness, and hope.”

Published by Page Publishing, Suzanne Muir’s fascinating tale explores how the life of one person can become so intertwined with others, and the powerful impact that can have. As Kat does her best to repair and revitalize her new apartment complex, she’ll come to understand just how important purchasing it was on her own path to healing her lost soul.

Michael D. Barron’s newly released “The Trinity Revealed in Scripture: An Old and New Testament Comparative Study” is an engaging discussion of the triune God

“The Trinity Revealed in Scripture: An Old and New Testament Comparative Study” from Christian Faith Publishing author Michael D. Barron is a helpful resource for those seeking a deeper understanding of the three components that encompass what Christians know as the Holy Trinity.

“The Trinity Revealed in Scripture: An Old and New Testament Comparative Study”: an informative and carefully presented comparative study. “The Trinity Revealed in Scripture: An Old and New Testament Comparative Study” is the creation of published author Michael D. Barron, a dedicated husband and father who holds a degree in criminal justice.

Barron shares, “Have you ever heard someone say that Christians believe in three gods? If you are a new Christian or just curious about why Christians believe in the triune nature of God, then this book is a must read! The Bible doesn’t blatantly say in one sentence that God is a trinity (three in one), so it takes a little research. In this book, you will find a litany of verses from the Old and New Testament that point to the God of the Bible as having three distinct personages: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

“You will see that God reveals Himself through each of these personages as Creator, Savior, Redeemer, and so much more. By the time you are finished reading, you should have a clear understanding of HIS triune nature and where to find evidence of it in the Bible.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Michael D. Barron’s new book will help believers, both new and established, have a better sense of the nature of the Trinity.

Barron shares in hopes of aiding others in their pursuit of true understanding and clarity in their faith.

Consumers can purchase “The Trinity Revealed in Scripture: An Old and New Testament Comparative Study” at traditional brick & mortar bookstores, or online at Amazon.com, Apple iTunes store, or Barnes and Noble.

  • Author Alan Slavich’s new book “Reflections of a Businessman” explores business practices that aren’t often taught in business school but are proven to increase profits.

Recent release “Reflections of a Businessman” from Page Publishing author Alan Slavich is an eye-opening analysis of managerial practices that are proven to encourage productivity and morale amongst employees, leading to high profits. Slavich’s wisdom and insight provide the vital tools necessary for supervisors in any industry to lead their workforce to be the most optimized.

Alan Slavich, who, upon graduating from the University of Washington in 1963 with a degree in ceramic engineering, began his career in the flat glass industry, has completed his new book “Reflections of a Businessman”: an exploration of best business practices that can help to elevate a company from the point of view of an employee.

“‘Reflections of a Businessman’ is a look at business effectiveness from an employee’s perspective versus the teachings in a traditional business school,” writes Slavich. “There are many successful businesses in the world today, and there are also many unsuccessful businesses in the world today. What are the things that separate the successful business from the unsuccessful business? Obviously there is more than one answer to that question, but employee participation and contribution can greatly affect the performance of the business.”

Slavich continues, “This book analyzes and views the effectiveness of management on the productivity of the workforce. Over fifty-five years in the business world provided the experience of a wide variety of supervisory styles within three different companies and provided insight into the effectiveness of the various management styles. This book is a look at the various management styles that one person observed after all those years in the business world and documents what was learned from each experience. This experience was then analyzed and was used to develop a profile of what constitutes a successful business model. The model was then used to create a high involvement organization with resultant world-class credentials.”

Published by Page Publishing, Alan Slavich’s thought-provoking discussion helps bring to light the various management styles that create the most productivity within a company’s workforce and how these styles can be used to better organize a business while growing profit margins.

Chuck Furjanic’s new book “HOW TO LINE UP YOUR FOURTH PUTT” includes stories where good shots are plentiful: like hole in ones, bombastic drives, and long putts

Recent release “HOW TO LINE UP YOUR FOURTH PUTT” from Page Publishing author Chuck Furjanic describes euphoric moments when US flags, rocks, Pepto Bismol, and beating your handicap make life and golf worthwhile.

Chuck Furjanic, an avid golfer, golf teacher, and golf collectible expert and historian, has completed his new book “HOW TO LINE UP YOUR FOURTH PUTT”: a riveting book that explores how the good, the bad, and the ugly are facts of life for golfers.

Furjanic writes, “You will be experiencing bad shots like slices bouncing off trees, four, five, and even six putts and disappointment of not winning a convertible. Balls ricocheting off bunker rakes, putts rolling into the water hazard, and a ball proudly displayed in a university trophy case sporting a red scuff mark, a result of hitting a chimney. You will see truly ugly shots turning exasperation into exhilaration as Hooter’s girls, fellow pros, and awestruck golfers look on in amazement! Stories of a fist full of dollars on the greens and for a few dollars more on the munis would even have avid golfers like Clint Eastwood reading this book!”

Published by Page Publishing, Chuck Furjanic’s intriguing work delves into stories of great triumph to epic fail in the world of golf.

This book highlights the author’s ample expertise and a lifetime of studying the game of golf. Furjanic was a driving range teaching professional from 1965 to 1968. This scholarship provided financial assistance to over thirty-five student golfers over the years.

His dedication to the game of golf, education, and golf history is well-documented. He was given the honorary title Golf Doctor by his friends and students. From 1989 through 2003, Chuck published 151 monthly catalogs, offering golf collectibles and conducted seventeen golf auctions. • Author John Fer’s new book “Trampling the Serpent: Vietnam POW” is a compelling memoir of his military service and the over six years spent as a prisoner of war.

Author John Fer’s new book “Trampling the Serpent: Vietnam POW” is a compelling memoir of his military service and the over six years spent as a prisoner of war.

Recent release “Trampling the Serpent: Vietnam POW- Revealing True Character” from Page Publishing author John Fer, Colonel, USAF-Retired is a candid autobiographical reflection on his life from his California childhood through his studies at USC and the US Air Force Academy through his decorated and distinguished service punctuated by seventy-three months in captivity in a brutal North Vietnamese POW camp. This riveting book offers a deeply personal account of an Air Force pilot’s experience in the Vietnam War and its aftermath.

John Fer, Colonel, USAF-Retired, a highly decorated former pilot in the US Air Force who was shot down while flying his fifty-fourth mission near Hanoi and became a prisoner of the North Vietnamese for more than six years, went on to serve a total of twenty-eight years before retiring to a fourteen-year career as an elementary school principal and now resides in Maryland with Nancy, his wife of forty-six years, with whom he shares three grown children, has completed his new book “Trampling the Serpent: Vietnam POW- Revealing True Character”: a gripping and potent autobiography of his life before, during, and after his distinguished military service.

Vietnam is sometimes called the land of the rising serpent, or dragon, because its geographical landmass resembles a serpent (or dragon) in an upward configuration. In this book, taken from Colonel Fer’s personal experience of more than six years of Communist incarceration at the hands of the North Vietnamese, one learns of his surprising, actually shocking, awakening from the idyllic world of an idealistic, future-oriented combat pilot backward into the ancient world of warfare, where brutality toward POWs was the norm. Wounded by shrapnel when his EB-66C aircraft was shot down by surface-to-air missiles on February 4, 1967, he recounts his seventy-three months of captivity, which brought him face-to-face with mistreatment and deprivation and a Communist charge that he was a war criminal and subject to tribunals. It was also a world of deprivation that ignored any considerations of treatment according to international diplomatic agreements or international humanitarian law.

A bachelor when he was captured and denied any communication with them for over three years, Colonel Fer articulates his parents’ actions in trying to learn his fate for the nearly four years it was unknown to them. Throughout his imprisonment, his resistance to brutal treatment and intense Communist attempts to indoctrinate him with anti-Americanism, Colonel Fer relied on his three faiths: in God, in America, and in his fellow POWs. The release of the POWs in 1973 was a joyous international event of immense proportions, and he describes his return to America on March 8, the attention, and the numerous requests for speaking engagements and other public appearances. The events of his return also eventually brought his marriage to Nancy, whom he still holds in great reverence. Colonel Fer describes his experience as a POW as “the best thing that ever happened to [him]” because it brought clarity of how to better understand America and its people.

Published by Page Publishing, John Fer, Colonel, USAF-Retired’s engrossing book is a superb choice for avid American and military history and nonfiction readers.

Readers who wish to experience this engaging work can purchase “Trampling the Serpent: Vietnam POW- Revealing True Character” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
