Author Cornelius Wright’s new book “Black Boy from the Barrio” is the first in a series of memoirs sharing the challenges and triumphs of his life in Northern California

Cornelius Wright, a certified life coach, author, speaker, and philanthropist who has just recently found out his true calling in life, has completed his new book “Black Boy from the Barrio”: a collection of candid autobiographical essays offered to motivate and inspire.

“Black Boy from the Barrio” is a series of books about Cornelius “Neo” Wright. It’s an ongoing saga about an African American man who is living two different lives. The first half of his life was spent doing nonproductive things like partying, watching television, and working on physically demanding jobs. During his mid-thirties, he had a wakeup call and realized that he needed a “check up from the neck up.” He found that he was on the same career and life path that his beloved father (who was a farm laborer) had warned him to avoid. In 1994, he was introduced to some local business owners who were living the life that most people would only dream of. Fortunately, they were willing to coach and mentor Neo if he would make the time. He took them up on their offer, and the rest is HISTORY. At the time, little did Neo know that he would someday rewrite HISTORY for himself and countless others someday in the future. Well, that SOMEDAY is now. Welcome to “Black Boy from the Barrio” Volume 1.

Published by Page Publishing, Cornelius Wright’s engrossing book is the first in an inspiring series of autobiographical works offering personal testimony to the limitless possibilities of positive change.

  • Author Patricia Jensen’s new book “John or Is It Fred: A Glimpse of the Jensen Family Saga” is a compelling portrait of a family living during a turbulent era in history

Author Patricia Jensen’s new book “John or Is It Fred: A Glimpse of the Jensen Family Saga” is a compelling portrait of a family living during a turbulent era in history

Patricia Jensen, a proud mother of two sons and grandmother of three grandkids and the former cohost of a radio talk show on KKRN in Round Mountain, has completed her new book “John or Is It Fred: A Glimpse of the Jensen Family Saga”: a riveting and potent depiction of a real-life family living through a tumultuous era in American history.

Describing her inspiration for this story, the author writes, “While cleaning the garage during the virus lockdown in 2020, Bill found the wallet referred to in the book, along with numerous other items in multiple boxes. We had moved from San Diego on New Year’s at the turn of the century, and the boy’s old footlocker toy box managed to house a number of collectable items and family heirlooms. These were boxes of relatives’ memorabilia and old pictures that had been handed over to us from his mom and upon the death of older relatives.

“With Bill’s help, I was able to create a time line of events from the dozens of items we found. His recollection of a number of the noteworthy ones helped create this story.

“He helped identify many of the characters in pictures that turned up in this book. He also recalled many stories that his dad, Fred C. Jensen, referred to as Freddie early in the book, told him. He remembered many visits from relatives when he was a boy, and the numerous ‘war’ stories overheard.”

Published by Page Publishing, Patricia Jensen’s personal tale follows true-life colorful characters of the 1920s to 40s as they lived full and adventurous lives. They lived at a time when they were called upon to build a city and a historical dam, to grow a fledgling spit of a town in the desert into what would become the world-famous city of Las Vegas.

The Jensens were rugged individuals on a desert frontier living ordinary lives during an exceptional time in American history, and they continually rose to the occasion. They survived Prohibition, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and made many wartime sacrifices. Along the way and by complete chance, they bumped into numerous famous personalities.

Readers who wish to experience this gripping work can purchase “John or Is It Fred: A Glimpse of the Jensen Family Saga” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

  • Gerlean Y. Baylor’s newly released “My Pretty Inside” is an encouraging children’s story that expresses the importance of valuing oneself

Gerlean Y. Baylor’s newly released “My Pretty Inside” is an encouraging children’s story that expresses the importance of valuing oneself

“My Pretty Inside”: a charming and positive message for children. “My Pretty Inside” is the creation of published author Gerlean Y. Baylor, a loving wife and mother who strives to support all who need encouragement. Ever committed to learning, Baylor has achieved an MBA in Organizational Development from Upper Iowa University (2002), an MBA in Human Resources from Capella University (2016), and is presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management from Northcentral University. She is also a 2020 inductee in the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the Society Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Baylor shares, “Today there are many images and characteristics of what the world classifies as ‘pretty.’ The impact of these images affects how girls see themselves in comparison to these images. If girls do not have features that are characterized as pretty, they don’t consider themselves pretty. Have you ever felt this way? In this book, I pray you understand that God has made you unique, the best you there is to be in this world. You are pretty just the way you are. There are many different races, cultures, personalities, sizes big and small, which are pretty in their own way. There is no one in this world like you, and that is special within itself. God cared enough for you to create only one you in this whole world. He chose you and equipped you with all the best features and characteristics to be the prettiest you. You are able to become anything in this world that you care to dream of becoming as God leads you in your purpose. Unique, loving, kind, and talented as you are, God has given you a purpose in this world and as you read this book and affirm whose you are, how pretty and unique you are inside, please understand that you are just as pretty outside. You have been created in God’s image and your pretty inside is just as great and pretty as your outside for this world to see.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Gerlean Y. Baylor’s new book is a motivating opportunity for parents, educators, and guardians to discuss the true value that everyone holds.

  • Richard A. Gallo’s newly released “Majoring in the Minors: A Blueprint of Hope” is a compelling exploration of common societal issues faced today

Richard A. Gallo’s newly released “Majoring in the Minors: A Blueprint of Hope” is a compelling exploration of common societal issues faced today

“Majoring in the Minors: A Blueprint of Hope: From a Christian Perspective Overcoming Racism, Injustice, Domestic Violence, and Other Evils”: an encouraging message of hope. “Majoring in the Minors: A Blueprint of Hope: From a Christian Perspective Overcoming Racism, Injustice, Domestic Violence, and Other Evils” is the creation of published author Richard A. Gallo, a loving husband of over fifty years to Vicki with whom he shares two grown children and three grandchildren. Gallo is a retired pastor within the United Methodist Church who has a Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, as well as a Bachelor of Science and Master of Professional Studies in Human Relations from New York Institute of Technology. He was also a police officer and detective in New York for twenty years.

Gallo shares, “If you or someone you know has never experienced racism, bigotry, injustice, abuse, or domestic violence, then this book is not for you.

“But if you or someone you know has been such a victim and suffered from such societal evils, then perhaps you are not reading these words by chance. Perhaps God has brought you to this moment to make a difference, for deep down in your heart, you know that this is fundamentally wrong. And just maybe, God through his Spirit, has brought you to this very moment to say, ‘Enough is enough,’ and start doing something to begin eliminating racism, bigotry, injustice, abuse, and domestic violence.

“Rev. Gallo lays out a twelve-step process that he has termed A Blueprint of Hope from a Christian Perspective. Utilizing twelve messages or themes of hope (one from each of the minor prophets), as well as the teachings of Jesus, he formulates a plan. This plan incorporates both small group ministry within the local church and neighborhood outreach to the surrounding community where these societal evils rear their ugly heads and have devastated individuals for generations. These twelve messages, as well as a unique perspective and insights that he has gained over forty-two years of police work and active ministry, he formulates a blueprint of hope that encourages individuals to catch a vision of what might be if people begin to look at each other through eyes of love and hope, rather than hate and despair.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Richard A. Gallo’s new book is a creative and compassionate look at modern society’s divisive tendencies and what can be done about it.

Gallo shares in hope of encouraging others to find a way to make a difference within the current societal norm based on the teachings of Jesus and twelve themes of hope found within the stories of each minor prophet’s life.

  • Keisha Perrin’s newly released “The Egg Is Still in There” is a powerful story of finding one’s faith and discovering purpose through Christ

Keisha Perrin’s newly released “The Egg Is Still in There” is a powerful story of finding one’s faith and discovering purpose through Christ

“The Egg Is Still in There”: a potent discussion of the author’s spiritual growth. “The Egg Is Still in There” is the creation of published author Keisha Perrin, a loving wife and mother who has worked as a hairdresser, a nurse tech in a local emergency room, and a secretary for a family-owned business.

Perrin shares, “Life has been a challenge for Keisha to find the truth of God with false teachings and lack of true discipleship around her. The Holy Spirit divinely intervenes with choosing one of two roads, destruction or God.

“This choice brought many storms and trials that were authored by God Almighty to break her and her family down to remold them into His image. The cost was high but well worth it.

“Forgiveness for herself was necessary, and as the convicting came, God also healed through a comparison of the family according to God’s word with baking.

“Knowledge and truth is powerful. The science of baking a cake with ingredients eggs and flour match God’s purpose for the family. Satan deceives women into thinking their purpose and touch on the family isn’t seen, but the egg is still in there even though you can’t always see it! We were all born with a purpose!”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Keisha Perrin’s new book is an encouraging look into the author’s experiences in life and faith.

With thoughtful reflections and relevant scripture, Perrin hopes to encourage others who may be going through similar situations to find peace through God’s love.
