A tale of mystery and intrigue awaits readers as author Glenn Rehder releases his the first volume of his new whodunit series titled “The Collector’s Protégé” (published by Archway Publishing).
Imagine a newly elected Sherriff of a rural county in the Sierra Nevada Mountains who finally achieves his ideal job. Ideal until a serial killer decides to move from his Tennessee hunting grounds to Sheriff Danny Sardano’s peaceful community. Sardano quickly realizes he is not dealing with a typical murderer and is in over his head, so he enlists the help of an old FBI friend to assist in ending the carnage. However, the killer who will become known as the Face Collector is always one-step ahead of them even to the very end. He has disguised himself well in the community and has found a kid protégé willing to learn the Face Collector’s ways.
“The Collector’s Protégé” is filled with twists and turns that will leave the reader surprised all the way to the ending chapters. Although a work of fiction, it includes the author’s personal experience with the book’s location. The real crime that occurred during his time living there also adds realistic elements to the storyline. It is a good murder mystery read for all who enjoy the genre.
