Recent release “The Construct of a Scientist: Secrets of a Marriage and Politics” from Page Publishing author Bella T. Altura is a lovingly recalled story about her late husband, Burt, who knew he wanted to become a scientist when he was twelve and worked his way to making his dream happen.
Bella T. Altura, who was born in Germany at the beginning of the Nazi era, has completed her new book “The Construct of a Scientist: Secrets of a Marriage and Politics”: a touching tribute to her husband’s life and legacy. Altura’s family managed to escape Europe after experiencing Kristallnacht to start a new life in America. It was her job in a clinical laboratory that brought her together with the subject of this book, her husband, Burt, who taught her how to enjoy life again.
Published by Page Publishing, Altura’s nostalgic book tells the story of Burt’s life from his desire to become a scientist at a young age, working through school to achieve it.
“To the scientific community around him, he appeared as a loner, not being able to make small talk nor showing the slightest ability for social interactions. So he never got the respect from them he deserved,” Altura said.
After sixty years of wedded bliss and continued work together, Burt’s life came to a heartbreaking end when he broke his hip and then contracted COVID-19 in the hospital. He succumbed to the disease, but Altura has collected her memories into this book so that readers can get to know Burt.
Readers who wish to experience this heartwarming work can purchase “The Construct of a Scientist: Secrets of a Marriage and Politics” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
