Karen Lee Stradford announces the release of her debut book titled “Raw” (published by Balboa Press).

This poetry collection is about self-reflection and embracing the inner self. Each poem gives readers a glimpse of the author’s journey as she experiences grief, love, happiness and sadness. About the Author

Karen Lee Stradford is currently a certified Special Education/English teacher at Columbia High School in the South Orange and Maplewood School District in New Jersey. She holds a Master of Arts degree (M.A.) and certifications as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDT/C), and a supervisor. About the Author

Born in Michigan, Floyd E. Myers spent his formative years on a farm in a small Texas town. There was no electricity at home and water was sourced from rainwater to a cistern. Heat was from fire wooed in a metal furnace. Kerosene ran the kitchen stove and provided light from lanterns. Conditions improved when he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for four years, at a young age. He worked for General Electric for a number of years, and later for an insurance claims company for about 20 years, rising to a regional manager over eight states at one time. After this, he started his own company, which grew to provide services nationwide. He went on to found and co-found nine other companies providing nationwide services. These included corporations providing software, forensic engineering, arson investigations, and a number of catastrophe claims companies. “Heartbeats: Poetry and Muse over decades” is his first publication.

Author draws on his time with the Marines in his new collection of inspirational principles and poems

While serving with the United States Navy as a fleet marine force hospital corpsman, author Jason Henderson learned that not all wounds are visible. Sometimes the healing that the soldiers needed came from emotional support and encouraging words. In his new book, “A Warrior and a Poet: Principles & Poems,” Henderson shares his collection of inspirational words and poems he used to keep marine’s spirits up during deployments.

“While I was deployed, I was treating a marine, who was having a particularly bad day,” Henderson said. “We talked, and before he left, I shared one of my poems with him. Days later he came to me again and told me that my words had saved his life.”

Henderson wants to share his uplifting poems with readers to show that we can all be strong in different ways.

“While I do have my favorites, these poems aren’t written for me,” Henderson said. “My poems are written for others. For anyone who is struggling, needs motivation or encouragement. I hope my book finds that person who can benefit from embracing the world or its experiences.”

“After a very unhappy 20-year marriage, I knew I needed help and began writing to God in the form of prose almost every night to empty my soul and of the pain and limitation I found myself in. He too felt about them as I did and suggested we get them published because we both agreed that others might benefit and be inspired to change their lives,” the author shares.

Through her persistent belief in that higher power within, she found the love and peace she was looking for. About the Author

Billie Stephens-Ogden was born in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1943 of working-class parents. Her father died when she was 3 months old. In her childhood, she had an “imaginary” friend who helped her stay out of trouble but was forced to deny his existence by relatives. During this time, she had an intense desire to find God. She was allowed to attend churches of all denominations but after a few visits would always walk away saying, “God does not live here.” Creating and leading workshops and seminars, and public speaking, are some of her favorite activities because inspiring and sharing the love of life with others enriches everyone’s lives. She has lived in seven different states and Idaho is her favorite. She currently lives in Coeur-D’alene, Idaho, where she enjoys the process of aging. To her, getting older is like expanding her life rather than it withering away, and now because she has more time for thought and introspection, which has enabled her to work on this book. Stephens-Ogden and her husband have six beautiful adult children between them, a host of grandchildren, and two grown adopted daughters.

She is an ordained, non-denominational minister and metaphysical consultant with local, national, and international clients. She has published a monthly newsletter “WeR1” for 18 years. “Love’s Evolution” is her first book.
