Michael Tavella believes many people who are starting on a path to enlightenment look to Buddhism and Zen because they are well known. But sadly, after a few weeks or months, they become disillusioned and quit. He wants to help people who are on a path to knowledge and are not enlightened yet as well as those who are thinking about starting on the path. In this book, Tavella uses his personal experiences to help others seeking a path to enlightenment. Outlining the steps that worked for him, he provides the answers to why people become enlightened, who they really are, what their purpose on the earth is, what happens after enlightenment, and why many teachers tell them to live in the moment. Here, he facilitates a discussion through the questions of “What should I do? How should I act? Who can help me? What is the end goal?”
I believe this book address topics of enlightenment and knowledge of the true self in a direct and clear manner that is accessible to anyone. I speak in a straightforward manner. I remove much of the mysticism that surrounds ‘Eastern religions.’ I stress that enlightenment is not a spiritual experience. It is a psychic experience. Michael Tavella has spent his life studying to become enlightened and has lived enlightened for 30 years. He is trained as an engineer but has dedicated 20 years of his adult life to studying the Eastern religions and philosophy and learned much about the science behind the universe as well as the metaphysics of that universe.
